It’s that magical time of the year again: the time when the world achieves a sort of balance. The word ‘ equinox’ itself comes from Latin: “ aequus” (equal) and “noctis” (night) and represents the day when the Northern and Southern hemispheres experience an equal amount of daylight. At 2:54 BTS, 23rd of September most of the world will experience the exact same length of night-time and daytime; no flashing news, but it still excites me. A Chinese myth suggests that during this day you’ll be able to balance an egg vertically on a surface because of the sun’s and moon’s perfect alignment. This IS a myth, but I get where they’re coming from; if nature does something amazing and inspiring we want to re-affirm it, reflect it, we want to copy it. We often go as far as recreating it: we have flowers and plants patterns on our clothes, linens, decorations, artworks, we use thunder, rain and waves sounds in our music, we hang fairy lights in our rooms to resemble stars. Yes, nature is the art director that everyone likes to take inspiration from. And we know that mother-nature is the mother of all, so we can trust that what she’s often doing is the right thing.
