Cacao Ceremony. Summer Solstice. Planting seeds for the rest of the year.
Why I attended a cacao ceremony and what did I experience. How does it feel now, almost a week after? Raw cacao has been used in ceremonies for thousands of years by the indigenous people of ancient Mesoamerica and it is still being used as a potent plant medicine today. The ceremony was facilitated by Rebekah Shaman who was a great guide for this practice, but I will try to share my insights on how to do it yourself too, at home.
Why doing it?
Let me be honest here. As life unfolds, I have my ups and downs, and this will NEVER change. As tempted as I am, I should never be wishing for happiness because that will always come to me anyway, same as sadness. But what I really want to be able to do is to truly feel those moments in between, the stillness of peace. I feel that it’s not easy to enjoy such moments if you don’t take time to solve past issues and inner conflicts and generally set goals and scan yourself and what’s going on in your life once in a while. It’s the Summer Solstice 21.06.2018, which means that it’s the longest day of the year, the shortest night of the year, and that half of this year has passed (plus those 60–90 days of what was supposed to be just one month: that never-ending January; we all felt it). Whether I want to celebrate this day in a more spiritual manner, as I did…
