Beware of Meditation. What goes up must come down.
We all get that from time to time: feeling upside down. Everything is alright, you don’t seem to have any serious issue, but you have that feeling of being depersonalised, not knowing who you are and what to do with yourself. EASY: you’re just going to google “ what to do when you don’t know what to do with yourself’ and you’ll be reminded that stillness is something that should be practised too and you don’t really have to do anything.
Pretty much any google search will lead you to articles about how meditation and mindfulness are KEY … to EVERYTHING. I discovered the benefits of practising meditation when I was 19, and since then I went through phases, sometimes I’d practise every day, sometimes I’d let it slip for weeks, and sometimes I’d force it upon me.
Recently I noticed how this practice was becoming a procrastination-through-meditation sort of thing, and whenever I felt pressured to do something that needed doing I said to myself “oh, you are under too much pressure and stress. Bad vibes. You shouldn’t do anything while having this energy. Sit and meditate first and clear yourself from negative energy!” . As soon as I eased in my pose this feeling of guilt stormed in. I was obviously not doing what needed to be done.
Some things require immediate attendance, and the efficient part of me couldn’t…
